Hi friends! It seems I took a little unexpected, but much needed hiatus. How have you been?

Yesterday was my favourite kind of fall day. When I left the house early in the morning, I was chilly and bundled up in a sweater. By the afternoon, it was hot and sunny. I took Maisy to High Park and as we walked through the forest, I realized that I hadn’t told you about the t-shirt I was wearing. It’s the first t-shirt I’ve sewn and I made in it our T-Shirt class. I’m still pretty new to sewing with knit fabrics, so I was thrilled to learn to make myself a perfect fitting tee completely on a serger. (Actually, we also use a cover stitch machine in this class, as well!) There are several different neckline and sleeve length options to choose from with this pattern. I combined the v-neck and the jewel neck to make a deeper scoop neck which I quite like. The fabric is a blue jersey I already had, but my next tee will definitely be made out of bamboo jersey. Now that I’ve got this pattern, I’m pretty set with all the basics. (Underwear + Tees) I’m going to draw the line at making my own jeans, but I’ve got a hankering to try making a pair of shoes one day.

I’m also sporting my new sunglasses (on sale from Anthropologie) in these photos. I went to New York City a couple weeks ago for the weekend. I have some fun photos to organize and post up for you.

I thought I’d share some shots from the latest Anthropologie catalog. I get so many ideas from these little books. My favourite is the blue top with big ruffles down the centre. I would love to knock that off!

Once a month, just like a subscription, the Anthropologie catalog arrives in my mailbox. It’s been a couple years since I’ve actually ordered anything from their mail order, but my splurge on Chie Mihara shoes was worth it for the monthly dose of inspiration their paper catalog brings me. Their holiday catalog is extra thick and full of wonderful details and ideas that I’m filing away for future projects. I thought I’d share my favourite bits with you.

I bought my Chie Mahara shoes from Anthropologie last year and since then, I’ve been receiving their catalog each month. Each issue is a keeper filled with tons of great ideas and things to covet. My favourite top right now is the one above with the cascading ruffle down the side. I can’t decide if I want them to come to Canada, it might be too dangerous for me.

{NOTE: after talking to Amy, I did some research and they’re definitely coming next year to Yorkville. On a positive note, I will no longer fear the exorbitant shipping costs. On a negative note, I will likely spend ten times as much money there because I no longer fear the exorbitant shipping costs.}

p.s. I should also mention that west elm just opened on King Street West at 109 Atlantic Avenue. It’s a huge store and I love the location. I’m putting their grey organic cotton sheets on my christmas list.
