I have to thank Kimberly for first showing me this book. It’s hard to keep up with them all, so I love when you give me suggestions and show me the books you’re buying. As soon as I flipped through her copy, I knew I had to order it. It’s filled with super cute dresses and tops that seemed different from all the other Japanese dress books I’ve got already. I love the huge bows that they show with several of the pieces. I’ll definitely be making one of those.

I hope you’re having a great long weekend. I’m going to try to catch up on blogging some of my recent projects. I seem to have a bunch that I haven’t told you about yet!

  1. Very lovely! I can imagine these looking great on you. If you go to Japan Couture Addicts, you can see several examples of what others have made, including a few of the cover dress. It’s book #295.

Japan Couture Addicts front page recently announced the publication in French of “Stylish Dress Book #1”, which I’m sure will be great for all those French-speaking Canadians. Maybe someday soon in English, too, just for those little things you discover through mistakes in the process of making.

  2. Hi Karyn, I’ve got that book too and have already made the Party blouse which has double layered sleeves. It was a great success! Looking forward to seeing what you make from it.

  3. I bought the exact same book 2 weeks ago, the dresses look so lovely. However, since I’m just a novice sewer, I’m a bit confused by the instruction at the back, it seems more complicated than the normal dress books. Love to hear how you find the instructions.

  4. Such a lovely book! I’m a novice sewer and would love to try out some of these designs. Would you be able to pass on where you bought this book, or if it will be on offer at The Workroom?

    Thanks!
