She said, “I plan to make a few sets of bias-trimmed placemats & napkins with funky fun fabrics similar to the ones on Purl Bee, maybe with hand-stitching. Also, a canning jar pincushion filled with a notions like few buttons & thread spools for my new-to-sewing daughter”
Today is Debbie‘s Crafty Wish List!
- Bernina Aurora 440 QE – because it’s wonderful! and it makes sewing effortless.
- Pattern Drafting : The Skirt (class at the workroom) – I want to take this class because I dream about it being the first step I take in my new life as a master maker of beautiful clothes.
- Liberty of London fabric – maybe just a fat quarter or two. For a couple of sweet projects and some textile design inspiration

Ooooh! I love the Mirabelle, it reminds me of the bedsheets I had as a child. I think a metre of it would be perfect for making a shirred top (and I have some time to make it before the weather gets warm again!).
Once I had the courage to cut into this beautiful fabric, I would probably make it into a sweet blouse from one of my Japanese craft books.

Hmmm…I would love a piece of Fairford to line the inside of a leather clutch purse – the perfect treat every time I open it and look inside.
oh the zain fabric has been on my wish list for so long. i think i would take inspiration from you and try to make a dress out of it. try my hand at one of my new japanese dress books!
I’ve been enjoying your wish lists! I have many of the same wishes, including any of these gorgeous Liberty fabrics. My favorite is Fairford, with Mirabelle a close second. I’ve been collecting little pieces here and there in hopes of making a Liberty patchwork quilt. Since all of my recent projects have been selfish ones for myself, I would love to make my hubby a neck tie out of the zain! Maybe then he’ll lift my crafting purchase limits!
I think I might add the Bernina to my craft wish list next year. I would choose a metre of the Fairford fabric to make a sweet top for my daughter.

I would definitely choose the fat quarters, and find a project for each piece…
I’d use My little star to make myself a scarf with the freebie pattern from Small Stash Sewing; Mirabelle to add to the bridesmaid dress fabric I’m using to make a softie for my sister’s impending baby; Little Mari for a scarf for my MIL; The Zain to redo the previous panel I inserted into a too-small skirt I adore; and Fairford to pin up on the wall in my cubicle’s “crafty corner”. Phew!
I would love to have a meter of Little Mari, first because it matches my name, second because it’s gorgeous and third because, because. Now what I would do with it…probably three holes vest.
I love Mirabelle and Mari and would make something for my mother-in-law like a smashing vintage smock apron or set of placemats. She has three sons so is only a closet girly-girl and I think she would love for me to make her something for her newly renovated kitchen which she’s waited 23 years for. Thanks Karyn!
I would make the liberty of london fabric into a beautifully soft short sleeve blouse. it has to be something close to my skin… it’s just so soft!!!

Oh my gosh, my heart skipped several beats! I think it would be the metre of Little Mari (though I love them all, and Fairford is wonderful…). I would probably go for a blouse from it, or a beautiful bag lining, or maybe contrasting details on a dress (collar, pockets, and cuffs?). It really is beautiful. Oooo… give me liberty or… I’d have to narrow it down between Zain and LIttle Mari! I think I would also do a japanese blouse or lining of a bag. I’m on a men’s shirt kick right now, would Zain make a zany men’s shirt or too much? Thanks Karyn!
I’d take the metre, and use it to make book covers for the notebooks I use at work everyday. It’s so much cheerier to walk in on a grey February day and have floral-covered notebooks waiting at your desk!

I’ve been so busy at work that I’ve forgotten to enter the last two giveaways, but I’m taking a break so I don’t forget to enter this one!!!….I love them all but I think I would take a metre of Zain. First I would just look at it and love it, and love it and look at it, probably for a while….and then I think I’d try and put it in a quilt….my first adult sized quilt. i love mirabelle. so beautiful. i am just learning to sew so i think i’d like to start with something simple. maybe a tote?
All those liberty prints are so beautiful.. It’s so hard to choose! I love the “My Little Star” print too, but I think I’d probably pick a metre of the “Fairford” and make a sweet, spring tunic from one of the Japanese dress books.
How to make a decision. After much thinking I would pick a yard of Little Mari. As we are expecting for the second time, not knowing the sex of the baby, but very much hoping for a girl, I would make her some dresses with it. If it turns out we will have a boy, then I’ll have to make a top for myself. 🙂 Thank you for this awesome prize.

Um, I have to admit I have been sitting here for about an hour trying to decide which I would choose! Yes, I have puttered around doing other things at the same time but always with liberty in the back of my mind.
I *think* I have decided that I would choose the fat quarters *if* I won. Mostly because I wouldn’t be able to choose only one print! And, I must admit I’m at a bit skeptical that 1 meter of fabric would equal a blouse for me.
So, five fat quarters equals five+ amazing project ideas! Lining for purses and pouches to make me smile each time I unzip them; I love the idea of using them as details on a blouse (as someone suggested above); fabric covered buttons to use as buttons, magnets or ponytail holders; patchwork details on pillows; framed in embroidery hoops….I could go on.

The Mirabelle is gorgeous – I would make a little bonnet and perhaps a tooth fairy pillow from the remnants for my Granddaughter Isabella.
If I had a metre of ‘my little star’ … I would fold it neatly, put it on my shelf & gaze at it with love for at least 2 months – all the while designing & redesigning the perfect little spring top for it in my head. I’d be sure to make it in time to wear to church on Easter weekend 😉
Oh wow! I’d take the fat quarters to make it spread over more projects as trim details and headbands…and maybe a fabric necklace or two.

With one meter of Little Mary, I would make a blouse, and as I want big sleeves, I would mix this fabric with plain white cotton. Yes, what about the body in Liberty and the sleeves simply white ? With a biais contrasting on both ?
By the way, I do like what you make and I wish I had the same kind of workroom in this part of the world (french Guiana, south America)

I’d definitely go for a metre of Little Mari – it’s so pretty! I think I would actually pay for a bit more and make a dress, or just use the metre for a flowy tank for next Summer. I love Liberty so much!
I love the Fairford print. A meter of that would certainly go to make something for my baby girl arriving in March, maybe a dress?
aaaHHH Debbie your my kind of Gal! apart from the bernina, I would really love some fat quarters encompassing as many liberties as I can! I have researched and studied the history of Liberty at College and I would somehow like to make a quilt that chronologically arranges the fabrics into their design eras….doe that make sense, Ive been thinking about this quilt time line for a little while this could be my opportunity to make it a reality! Hard choice but I think I would go for the full metre (in Zain or Fairford) and make myself a blouse for special occasions – or occasions I wanted to be special 🙂

Wow, what a generous offer! It was so hard to decide, they are all such lovely fabrics. But, i adore the “My Little Star” too much! I think i’ll make it into a softie toy (piece of an owl) for my wee one, as well as a small lavender pillow for me. I’m sure i’ll have some remnants left over, and as i still have to make a lap quilt for my 6-month old, i will incorporate it into that!

hmmm… I think I would turn the 5 fat quarters into something quilted that would be useful but not wear out. Perhaps a tea cozy, or integrate them into a wall hanging. Napkins would be beautiful on a table too but I dont think I could bring myself to wipe my face with liberty. truthfully, I would need more than a day to decide.
