March 26, 2010 of 365 : chainlink fence on the west toronto rail path
I’ve really been enjoying the West Toronto Rail Path. Right now it just goes as far south as Dundas. I can’t wait until it goes even farther.

March 7, 2010 of 365 : birch panels at mjolk on dundas west
Finally had a chance to stop into Mjolk in the Junction. What a wonderful space full of beautiful things. My favourite was the huge wall of birch panels at the front of the shop.
March 5, 2010 of 365 : fox print by melinda josie
I’m so excited about all the new prints Melinda has been making. I had to get this darling fox. Look at his bushy tail! Then, I really couldn’t say no to this amazing clover print, which she just announced she is also doing in fabric. I want it all!
365 : dinner with andrew at yama sushi on bloor
We have been going to Yama Sushi for a long time and it’s our favourite. The food is delicious and the family that owns it is wonderful. I always order the rocky mountain roll, which is way too big, but I love all the crispy tempura bits on it.
Can you believe it’s time for another fun trunk show? Our Valentine’s shows are always such a bright, warm spot in the dreary winter. Check out the City of Craft blog to see detailed vendor profiles for some of the show’s talent. I hope to see you this Sunday!
365 : entrance of smash recoveries
Smash is probably my favourite place to shop in Toronto. I don’t ever go without falling in love with at least one huge industrial object that weighs 750 pounds.
365 : on top of my dresser
This photo gives you a bit of a sneak peek of my handmade Christmas gift from Andrew. It’s a gorgeous cedar jewelry box with grey wool felt lining. What you see is only a fraction of it, as it is about three feet long. The poor daytime lighting has prevented me from getting good detailed shots that show it off properly, but I’m working on it!

Sheridan Textile Studio Sale
Friday November 20, 2009
5-9pm
at the workroom
the workroom has a certain fondness for the Sheridan Textile Studio program. Students in this program spend three years exploring printing, dyeing, felt making, surface embellishment, mixed media and digital design. So much fun! Both Debbie and Rosalyn are enrolled in this fantastic program, so I’ve seen first hand all the incredible work that goes on there.
Every year the students have a fundraising sale to make money for the graduating class’ final exhibition. I’m delighted to be able to host this year’s winter sale at the workroom. I hope you’ll drop by after work on Friday to browse the lovely wares and support Sheridan’s third year Textile Studio class. I got a sneak peek at a sampling of the goodies for sale and they include hand-printed pincushions, lavender sachets and aprons. I can’t wait to see what else they’ve made and to pick up some early holiday gifts.
